Cue Care

Here's our top tips and services to make sure your cue stays 100% healthy, reduces the chances of any damage occurring and most importantly, stays smooth and slick during play.

General Advice

- Don't store cues on an angle in which any pressure is put on the top end of the cue e.g leaning against walls.

- Avoid using a damp cloth unless cue gets extremely sticky during play as this can remove any oils/finish that exist on the cue.

- Get your cue re-oiled once every 3-6 months to ensure the wood stays hydrated and smooth.

- Clean your cue every 2 weeks or when it gets sticky with Sil Kleen or cue slide. These products are available on our site in the accessories section.

- Keep your hands and cue clean, your cue should stay smooth once serviced as long as you regularly wash your hands and don't do things such as eat then use the cue without washing.

- Store your cue in standard room temperature away from cold, damp or heating sources to avoid your cue warping as wood does not maintain it's structure in these conditions.

- Don't use sandpaper directly onto your cue, avoid touching the ferrule and especially the shaft when sanding/shaping your tip. Doing this will remove the finish and potentially take off the grain on an ash cue or even mis shape the cue.

- Change your tip when it reaches a level where you can't see much side wall as this will eventually cause damage to your ferrule which may incur further costs in the future to get it changed. Doing this may also change the performance of the cue.
